Safeplast USA LLC, the North American new born unit of great co-operation of our Canadian business partner Safeplast NA and the Tampere based Safeplast Oy company, has recently started the production in the brand new 3000 m2 premises in South Carolina, Pickens County near the city of Greenville.

The value of the investment is approximately € 3.8 million. Production at the new factory has successfully started in July 2018. During the rest of the year, the company will recruit approximately thirty employees for the new factory.

The unit will become the head office of Safeplast’s North American operations, and production from the factory in Canada will also be moved there. A distribution point will remain in Ontario; in addition to North America, the company also has distribution points in China and Singapore. Safeplast Oy’s Tampere factory will continue production as usual.

In-house design and development

The Safe-Spiral production lines, also the ones in the US factory in SC, are engineered and manufactured in our Tampere factory. They are mainly the result of the company’s own design and development. The investment also makes it possible to process and manufacture textile sleeves in the new factory. The goal is to double the current North American turnover within next 2–3 years.

Safeplast manufactures, sells and markets hose protectors as well as hose binding and bundling products for different uses. The protective spirals, manufactured out of environmentally friendly HD polyethylene, and textile sleeves provide effective protection for both machine operators as well as the hydraulic and pneumatic hoses in the equipment, even in extreme conditions.
